OT: Lets See Some Non-Wet Pets!

I'm not sure if there is an old thread for this,if not here's a new one. Just curious on what other types of critters people like to keep besides fish tanks. Any oddities or rarities out there? If you got anything you'd like to show, by all means please do.

For myself the passion other than reefing I have is herp keeping. Right now my collection consists of a Male/Female pair 2 year old Ball Pythons, a baby Redfoot Tortoise, and 8 Leopard Geckos (2 males, 6 females). I just got three of the leos today so I'll post some pics of them and some of the other animals.

Here goes:
Female Tremper Albino

Male/Female Double Het Blazing Blizzards

Here's a recent pic of my male Ball Python

My first two Leos, up top is a Male Bell Albino, bottom a normal female *Crummy Pic, the female was in a shed phase*:

And finally for tonight until the Redfoot wakes up to get some pics, my three female High Yellow Leos:

The Leo on the log in the last pic is actually carrying eggs, but they are infertile because she's only housed with females.

Hope you enjoyed some of my pets, now lets see yours!

Doni, beautiful animals...and daughter. I love German Shepards, my guess is it didn't take her long to shred that volleyball. LOL

Rougie I'm not much of an arachnid fan myself, yet they are still interesting creatures...

King you've got some excellent looking dogs there, its a shame pits have such a bad repuatation cause she looks like a sweety.

Keep up coming everyone!

Is that a zebra legged?
I had a few pink toes back in the day, hard to find a roomate when you have spiders though, so they were sold quite a while ago.

Mike it is a rose hair. When I bought it they hate it labeled as a tiger stripe. It is not that for sure! I actually have her at school. Keeps the kids in line!

Hey Woody....I do not play with toys....maybe I will post some pictures of Woola eating with me.

Cheers!

Re: OT: Lets See Some Non-Wet Pets!

you know pits, for having such bad reputations, are the best to keep, not only protective, but smart and gentle, beleive it or not. you just need to make sure it is a true breed, not a garage breed. detroit, miami, and L.A. are known for bad pits. the true pit, the straffordshire terrier (although some think it is weird-looking) are among the most well-tempered of all dogs. the pit as we know it today is actually a cross breed that alot of people liked because of the high and hot temper, which originally was used to fend off coyotes (or wolves, i cant remember which) and people saw this, ao used them for money making.

i love the geckoes, are you breeding them?

no comment on the arachnid.... nice.... just.... yea.... spider...

Re: OT: Lets See Some Non-Wet Pets!

lizards are great~ when i ran a store and the kids were young, they helped pay the bills! i bred jackson and vieled chameleons, madagasgar day geckos (geico...lol) and bearded dragons.

when i was younger, i had pink-toe and mexican red leg tarantuala's and a pair of ball pythons.

now my kids are old enough to frag on their own,(im not old enough to be a granddad!!!) im sure to find something else to play with~

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
