yes, was it a certified diamond? does it come with a gemoloical report? the sparkle of the diamond is more based upon the cut than anything. it also is the most infulential part of the cost of the diamond. you can have a flawless diamond however if it not porportionaly sound, the light doesnt refract correctly. however you can have a severly included dia, with a "ideal" cut and it will twinkle.. next off the clarity. the clarity is the diamonds "birth marks"... as diamonds form under ground they form around different minerals which leave deposits. most will look either like black spec or white. the clarity is the measure of size and ammount of these, the less and smaller the more rare it is. next up is the color... anything rated d-i is great, i personally wouldnt go with anything lower than a i... j-k-l on down you get alot of yellow hues. now with your setting which is white gold, the color isnt as noticable.... not artificail colors comin through the bottom...
anyways this is stuff im sure your jeweler went over...

O.K., as for explanations of the jewelry stuff. Stones are measured in Carats. It is a unit of weight, consisting of 100 points (percents) That 36 point stone is 36% of a carat, so the total diamond weight is 60 points, or .60 carats. NOT BAD! Gold is also measured in Karat weight. Pure gold is considered to be 24 karat, or 24 parts out of 24 are gold. 18K is 18/24ths pure gold, and 14Kis 14/24ths pure. 18 is considered HIGH QUALITY. It sounds like you "done good" . I'm not going to attempt to give recommendations for the engraving. Not my forte.
Congrats on the impending disaster...I mean wedding. Hopefully, it will be long lasting and full of happiness.

Gawd! WHO put THAT in my post?
<sorry, edited my pour speling>

Thats not a bad diamond. There is no G2 for color. You probably got that mixed up. It's probably only G.

I got a diamond that my Mom wore when she passed away and it is a 1.42 carat. G in color and VS2 in clarity. It is a very nice diamond. If you look into the diamond with a jewerls loop you can see 3 small pieces of dirt.

Check out the info on the links provided and learn a little about diamonds. I love diamonds so, I found it all interesting.

gina... nice diamond however if it is a vs2 you can not no way no how see any inclusions useing a loop.. it must be under 30xmagnification to notice.

as far as g2 it all depends on who certified the diamond... my guess is it is a g-h in the rating scale and the company says g2....
