Mr and Mrs Brucey are coming to New York

Hi guys

Hey. Guess what. Me and Lou are coming to New York for a 5 day break without baby Drew for our Honeymoon. It' somewhere we've both always wanted to go and now is our chance. We planning on landing late afternoon on 18th April and leaving the following Saturday. So why am I tellin you this . . . . well, we're hoping to get along to a Yankees game whilst we're there. So, what is the best game to go and see. I think there are two on whilst we are there . . . and how difficult is it to get tickets / how much should we expect to pay. Are any of you guys gonna be there to share a few beers.

Also, can anyone recommend any good restaurants etc.

Really appreciate your help guys / girls

Brucey

Yankee Stadium

This is the Yankee Stadium web site. Maybe you could find some tickets here for the game your interested in? You could probably always find a scalper selling tickets outside the stadium but, your going to pay more for them. And it is illegal for them to sell the tickets....I think!

If you like Italian food, you can't beat the restaurants in Little Italy!
You should also check into seeing a Broadway Play but, they may all be sold out at this point. It's kinda late to be trying to find tickets but, not impossible.

Wish I lived closer, I would love to meet you guys! I'm about 4 hours from New York.

Make sure you guys stay close together and I wouldn't carry a purse. Keep your money tucked safely away. I'm not saying that you have to be afraid there but, just watch each other. I've been there many times. I have some family who still live in the Yonkers and some in Manhattan.

Hey guys . . . . thanks for all the advice. It's sort of a last minute thing we decided upon. The Grand parents have offered to look after baby Drew and it is out first chance to spend some time on our own since he was born. NY seemed the natural choice to go . . . . . Gina, thanks for the advice. Yep, we know what places like that are like. Some area's of London are the same, espicially on the underground (Subway to you).

FFrankie. Appreciate your efforts bud . . . . any info or advice are more than welcome. And as for you drinking my beer . . . . . You'll have to get it off me first . . . .

When you gonna be there Brucey? My niece lives in Long Island and she has been to a few Yankee games this last year. I can ask her what her experience was, but FF probably has you covered. Happy trails!

Oh, and I would go to the Museum of Natural History and check out the Rose Center for earth and space. I was shocked when I went to it.http://www.amnh.org/rose/?src=e_p If you want to go out to Long Island, it's about an hour and a half drive to River head. There you can see one of the coolest reefs I have ever saw. 20,000 + gal. tank.http://www.atlantismarineworld.com/

Talking You Are Goning To Love New York!!

Brucey,

You are going to love New York!!! I've been there a few times since my wife has family there. It really is the city that never sleeps!!!

If I may, I would like to suggest one place for you to go and visit; and maybe have a bite and a "cold one" to go with it!!!!
Check out their web site: http://www.jekyllpub.com/index1.html This place is in the "Village" part of town in New York. Not too far from where you are staying. If you like beer, you will not be sorry!!! They have the biggest selection from all over the world that I have ever seen. My favorite is Duvel, which is from Belgium. I copied this from the web site:
Duvel*
(This beguiling brew is appropriately named, meaning devil.
Its palate is soft and seductive, yet its high alcohol content will
get you in the end.)
Try one, it will give you a nice kick in the pants... The place is full of these animated "monsters" and things all over the place. Most of them move or do something. I love this place!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, just wait until you have to use the restrooms. I say no more... You can tell us about it when you get back home!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, get there early because the line to get in can get pretty long!!!!!

Another idea might be for you to take a day trip to Atlantic City and check out the Casinos. I'm sure your hotel will offer excursions to this location; if not, there are always Tours in the phone book. Oh yeah, ask the people who work in the hotel about the "bus" that takes you there and back. If I remember correctly, it was pretty cheap and the ride was only about two hours or so. I'm willing to bet that this Charter Bus is cheaper than the tours...

Also, don't be afraid to ask the people who work in the hotel where they go for fun and where they go eat!!! They usually know of some great places to go.

Have A Wonderful And Safe Trip!!!!!!!

Have Fun and Good Luck!!!;
