OT: Surf!

So I had a crummy day at work. Spent at least four hours with my ear on the phone with tech support when my registers and inventory system at work went down. It was bad to say the least. I knew there was surf today.
I get home and see these pictures, the surf only goes off this good maybe 8 days out of the year. Overhead sets glass faces, and of course cold water so no crowds!

NICE!!! Those are some of the best East Coast waves I have ever seen.
I am missing the coast already .. moved to Colorado from So Cal .. So far I have found that falling on liquid water hurts ALOT less than falling on frozen water.

Oh man .. I am really missing Trestles, and with all the storms, those are the best waves.

Since Mike had such a bad day and Justin is missing the surf so bad, thought I would pass along this website I have visited before

Wipeout Photos
( disclaimer on the site, some great photo's)
We're not making fun of anyone.
Let's be clear. Many of the guys eating dust in these photos are incredibly good surfers pushing their limits beyond the wildest dreams of the SurfHumor crew.

thinking these hafta hurt alot! have a good day

You should come to NC. The east coast is really underrated for it's waves. All the good waves come through in mostly low population areas.
My area doesn't hold much over 8-10 feet, although it does get bigger on occasion. A short jaunt North to Hatteras or Frisco reveals even better surfing.
Go even farther north up to Jersey and other parts of NE and you can find some huge winter swell, if you can handle the cold.
I love surifng this area though. Locals are for the most part very cool, except when it gets extremely crowded, in which case a 30 minute drive to a less crowded beach can do wonders for your blood pressure
Of course the best time to hang around here is in the fall when the hurricanes weed out the tourists and kooks. Follow the swell to the right facing beaches and you can get some beautiful waves.

Ahhh.... warm memories of the Outer Banks! I love that place and hopefully we'll be there again this year! I don't know how to surf but, I'm real good at sitting in a chair with a drink on the beach! LOL
