OT not going to costa

ARRRRGHHH.....
I was supposed to be going to Costa next week.
Well I was making sure I had all my stuff staright to go, surfboard, extra fins reapair kits, and of course the allmighty US passport.
Well having a lab mix I SHOULD have known better, but a small brain fart screwed me over. I left all my stuff out, dog got into the room when I went to get a few beers with a friend, come home, my dog was EATING my passport!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I call the passport service today and they said I might be able to get a replacement if I drive to the nearest passport agency in Washington DC, which mean I would have to take off work for at least two days, which isn't happening

he is lucky I love him, all I know is my employees are going to hate working for me that week while I'm buming over not being in the warm water of costa rica surfing and instead am in Cold NC with no big waves dealing with customers and wholesalers and employees.... aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Bummer, sorry to hear that you missed out on your surfing trip. Pets do the darndest things.

Sorry to hear that Mike! How long would it take to get another passport sent to you? Could you change your plans and go later in the month or even March? Pets can do the dangest things and at the wrong time but, like you said thank god we love them!!! I feel for you, I would be very bummed!

No, can't change it, it was a complimentary trip. My buddies get a lot of sponsered surf trips and one of the guys couldn't make it, and they said I could go in his place.

Passports typically take about 1-2 months to get, if you get it expediated you might get it within two weeks.
FWIW the lady that helped me out was great, very friendly and very helpful, but after going through various options she said I wouldn't be able to get a passport in time unless I could drive up to Washington DC and fill out the info there, in which case it would be mailed to my house in about 8-9 buisness days.
bah..
I'm extremely disappointed. I think my dog did it on purpose so I wouldn't leave him at the hkennel for a week. That's what I keep telling myself...

Man Mike thats a tuff one. Sorry to hear you can't go. It took me 10 years to finally get a vacation last summer and going to Acculpulco for a few days was just the ticket. Hopefully next time your dog wont be so hungry!LOL
