| Torch coral ![]() | A little disturbing for newbies.... I just came across this at liveaquaria.com. Marine fish for beginners Don't some of these fish, especially gobies need a well established tank? Also, some of these fish aren't as hardy for a newbie. I mean I am no expert but I know a couple of things now, thanks to the lovely people at RS . Isn't this a little misleading?JMO

| Plate Coral ![]() | Well, they are a retail site in the business of selling livestock. They want to make as many of their products appealing to the lowest common denominator, ie., newbies, so that they can sell more product. So although you can get information from retail sites, I always try to back it up with my own independent research (through boards or other sites) to make sure that what the retailer is saying is true. For instance, they have minimum tank size requirements for many of the larger fish that are pretty small. Hopefully people that have access and purchase on the internet also take the time to do their own research.

| Reefus Geekus ![]() | There are a few there that I believe are GREAT beginner fish. Personally I love the clown gobies, full of personality with minimal care requirements. Plus you can never go wrong with a small school of chromis.
