RL that's a great deal I would go with the DEll. You can also upgrade the one you have, I replaced or upgraded everything on my computer from the integrated video card, hard drive, RAM etc. it's very easy to do. With the integrated graphics all you have to do is disable it after you install the new video card HTH

I would consider looking at an AMD Athlon XP processor, they are cheaper, and can out perform a P4, granted, the actual operating speed is rated less. And whatever you do, don't buy a smelleron (celeron) processor, they STINK. The P4's and the celerons are the same chip, the only difference in the two, is that the celerons have half the amt. of cache memory cutting down a lot on the performance. Also, there is nothing wrong with the integrated video and sound, the only reason not to is if you are a hardcore gamer, or do extreme graphics and sound. HTH

Also, you might check out the Creation Station computers at Best Buy, I found a smokin' deal there on a compaq, and an HP.

My own personal opinion is that there are really just two good options when in need of a new computer. Build one yourself or buy a Dell.

I sense that building one might not be an option for you so I totally support the decision to buy a Dell. When people ask me why I like Dell computers so much the answer is always the same. They deliver them fast and they never let you down!

Dude, (err....Dudette) your gettin a Dell!

My personal opinion... I've had problems with both Compaq & HP PC's, and considering both companies are now owned by HP, I'm sure they're quality is still very similar... I now have a Sony Vaio, and while it's a little more expensive than some other PC's, It's also a lot faster & has a lot more options than some. I've always heard good things about Dell, but my mother just bought a Dell PC 2 months ago, & hers just crashed last week- bad enough that she can't even use the "quick restore" CD's & Dell is now sending her a new hard drive...

Dells are great computers...for a while. At school, about 95% of the computers we had that were donated for us to use to learn how to fix PCs were dells and they were all broken, bad hard drives, bad video cards, bad NICs, bad MBs, you name it I've seen it in a dell, and I've heard from several friends that Dells customer service stinks royally.
