You think a gallon of gas is expensive . . .

You Think a gallon of gas is expensive?
This will make you think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 . $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 .$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ..... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 . $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ........ . $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .$84.48 per gallon

and here's the real kicker!

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?! $21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source.

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid, Pepto Bismol or Nyquil.

Just a little humor and reality check to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

BTW, this doesn't mean I like paying $1.70+ per gallon of gas.

Never thought of it in terms such as that! You've given me something to ponder the next time I'm pumping gas! Paid $1.63 this last friday. I usually get my gas at BJ's wholesale club. Gas around here is about $1.70.

DuhJeeps --

Next time I drink 15g of Pepto Bismol in a week, I'll think of you. LOL

$1.89 here today - but that's 93 Octane. Never use anything but.

I think I feel the gas prices more in the grocery bill than anything else. Between gas prices and the darn Atkins craze, I can't afford to buy meat anymore!

Jeez! You guys got it good! I just paid $1.89 for 87 octane! In az, we have 87, 89, and 91, and the 91 is over $2.00. My little Nissan pickup only gets ~20 mpg too w/out the ac on!

We pay $0.77/litre for gas

that translates into $2.91/Gal (US)
or $3.50/Gal (Imperial which is what we would have been using when we payed per gallon)

If you think those are bad, figure out how much we are paying for superglue gel to attach frags. The tiny containers at HD for $2.30 and the have like 4 ml in them. Try to fogure that one out per gallon...............

bird, he lives in Florida. You can buy a house there for about the same price as a year's rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in NYC.

Besides, you can't drive to the fish store on a tank of scope.

Hmm . . . a cheap house or tornado catcher, a redneck pool with a beach close on both sides (Atlantic or Gulf), and of course gator tail and frog legs frying on the grill. . . . or packed into an expensive apartment like a sardine in a can?

Which would you pick?

I'd take the tornado catcher with a redneck pool, and a beach on both sides thank you very much.

Actually I live in a nice and fairly new apartment - on a lake - about 5 mi from the beach and work. No complaints here about the gas prices or the cheapness of Florida. I came from Cali and lived in Hawaii, so believe me I know what expensive is.

DJ,

I don't see how my post implied that you lived in redneck country. I was merely stating that the cost of anything there is reasonable compared to what folks in NYC and LA pay for the same things.

Now, the fact that you immediately defended your decision to live amongst the gator eating, tornado fearing rednecks is a testament to the reality that anything north of Miami should be called Florida Au Gratin.

Besides, when a storms a blowin' you can always turn the key and move the home to a safer area.
