OT: Expanding my Portfolio

yeah, paintings...I'm expanding my art portfolio but most of it is black and white so I need more color.

#1 If you can capture that color and expression, that would be outstanding!

#2 Is too close to black and white. Nah!

#3 Beautiful, but not challenging. The background will be more challenging than the fish. It's more of a portrait.

#4 Not enough subject matter, background is blah!

#5 Interesting texture and would be great blown up greater than life size! Over emphasize the colors for a smashing piece of art.

no...I was a BFA student before my daughter was born and there's nothing to do where I live so I figured I might as well try to get some comissions and make some money.

The mandarin pic looks like it offers the most color variations to enhance the pic, although it's hard not to like the honu.
The tuna in pic #4 needs to be in my freezer, not in a painting...

I'd like to see some of your paintings. My wife especially liked the turtle. I am partial to the mandarin. She said we could put something like that up on the walls in my future fish room.
