When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: OT: Habits are hard to break Actually one of my daughters has glasses similar to horned rimmed and they look awesome on her. They just don't have the pointy parts on the side.

| Achilles Tang | Re: OT: Habits are hard to break I wore glasses for years - couldn't do the contacts thing - my optometrist prescribed contacts that I wear at night, take out during the day. Supposedly lots of atheletes are using them. I have astigmatism so the contacts reshape my cornea overnight (kinda like a jello mold) then during the day it will revert back.... No more glasses and I CAN SEE!!!

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: OT: Habits are hard to break Tried contacts 40 years ago, couldn't stand them in my eyes. I've heard the newer ones are easier to tolerate, but never tried them. At my age, I don't know if I could make the change, PLUS, I have quite a bit of scaring from flash burns over the years from welding and working around welders...(nothing like waking up in the middle of the night..."Ahhh, I got sand in my eyes!" and knowing it's a flashburn. I stole the novacaine eye drops from the doctor last time )
