| Contributing Member ![]() | Take a minute...life is short. Ever met anyone online and things just clicked? Personalities seemed to be matched perfectly and if you had met this person in real life, you just know you would be drinking buddies, the best of friends, practically inseperable? My wife and I have been communicating with just such a person for the last year and a half or so, he lived half way across the country so we never met in person, although plans were made several times, but schedule changes or money always seemed to prevent it. We became close by way of unlimited nights and weekends and free long distance, via our cell phones. I received an email from Michaels partner this afternoon, he was killed in a car crash this past saturday. Michael was 34, a school administrator, a smart and sensitive man that will be sorely missed by anyone that had the good fortune to meet him, either in person or in cyberspace. Take a minute to let those people close to you know just how much they mean to you, you never know when something tragic will happen. There are many people on this board that are more than just passing cyber-aquaintences to me, those people know who they are and I will not try to name them, I just want all of you (whether we "knew" each other or not) to know how much you have enriched my life, and how much more interesting you've made my time here in cyberspace. Rest in Peace, Michael...I'll miss you. |

| Moderator ![]() | Kevin, I am so sorry about your friend Michael. I agree with Curt in that, I wish you could have all met in person. But, like you said, that does not take away from what you had over the internet/phone. I'll say a prayer for his and your families. Take care! |

| Reef Lobster | Hey RR .... Sorry, caught this post a little late. So sorry for your loss mate and I wish I could find some words that would take away the pain. Your right, everyone on this BB is more than a chat partner, I really feel part of a large family here and wish I wasn't seperated from you guys by several thousand miles of water. Really envious when you guys get to meet in person. Your friend is in my prayers Brucey

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I completely understand what it's like to have internet friends who you only know online, but thier friendship is just as valuable as someone you meet up with often. This just brings to home how fortunate I feel for having been able to meet a few of my close internet friends in person.

| WOLVERINE~ ![]() | i feel for you Kevin, i too have people online that i have taken to heart and do care for. in this world you no longer have to be in the same room to become friends. when you share yourself, and they inturn share themselves, that is what makes friends, not proximity. love them for today for there may be no tomorrow. live, love, laugh, cry and rejoice! tell those you care about that you do, you may never get a second chance.
