Re: OT: Baseball fans?

Die hard Oakland A's fan here even though I live on the opposite coast. Only time I get to see them is when they play Baltimore and I make a road trip. Hardly ever on tv here. I have noticed a LOT of bandwagon Beantown fans the last several years. All the yankee and red sox baseball on tv makes me gag

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

Well my fish lost last night, almost won the game because of the stupid showboat Ken griffey Jr., DORK! did anybody see that on sportscenter?

BUT: THEY ARE NOW #1 in the league for HOME RUNS, and in the top 5 for the WHOLE N.L. in other stats....so dont tell me that they are winning because of slumping divisional rivalries. does that mean the entire league is slumping? I didnt think so.....

continue on........

I fail to see the point your trying to make.

I said the Marlins bought their first Championship, why drag the Yankees or Sox into my statement. Your really a hater aren't you

Both of those teams also have good ownership + good stadiums + good attendance which means revenue to spend on the club. The Marlins have a good team, $hitty ownership and a $hittier stadium.

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

My point was (at at the beginning of this thread) there is no credit given where credit is due...its always about the yankees and the redsox. And no...Dolphin"s Stadium is NOT a bad stadium. I grew up there, going to Dolphins games too. I didnt start making fun of you or anything you like. There is no room for that here. i will ignore all of that.

FYI-pudge wasnt on the first WS team. the catcher was Charles Johnson, with greg zaun as a back up.

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

Oh the days of old for As fans. Where are Joe Rudi, Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, Rolllie Fingers....?

This is a great baseball discussion! Is there any such thing as a bad baseball discussion?

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

I remeber when I was in 2nd grade. It was black history month. I chose Jackie Robinson. I learned sooooo much about those days. I even had to dress like him, i got an old jersey, and even an old blue and white Boston hat. it was sooooo cool, i had the best presentation.

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

I never made fun of you.

Anywho I watched Baseball tonight last night and they had more coverage of the Marlins than the Yanks and Sox combined.

And the stadium isn't the greatest, they really need a dome and hopefully will get one here in the next few years.

The future of Florida baseball is bright with the Marlins and Rays.

Stupid showboat Griffey Jr....I HATE SHOWBOATS. I was yelling and screaming at the TV to drop it BOTH times. Its about time that they cover the fish....that was the whole point

Re: OT: Baseball fans?

h the Yankees...I had the pleasure of seeing the Yankees play a few times when I was a kid. Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Ford, Yogi Berra, Tony Kubek, Bobby Richardson, Joe Pepitone...What a team...

My dad used to drive us from western Mass to NYC so I could see a game every once in a while. I was in Yankee Stadium 2 weeks before Maris hit his 61st...

Cubs win against peavy and maddux, sweet! I'm not really excited about the Edmonds pickup, but we'll see how it pans out.
