| Golden Moray | O.T.: Anniversary Thread Someone suggested an Anniversary thread and I thought it was a good idea. So here are the rules: You must post when you first met and/or your first date. If you're married, when he/she proposed. How long you've been together/married. Most importantly...PICTURES! A picture of when you first got together and a current picture.

| Madame Klanganator | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread Oh, yikes! That's ancient history for me. John and I met on January 28th, 1978, two days after the Great Blizzard of Jan. 26th that closed down everything up this way. We met in a bar named Utopia. Hmm. He never formally proposed, we kind of just grew into the place where we knew we'd be married. We were formally engaged at Christmas-time 1978... that's when he gave me a ring. We married on Friday, April 25th 1980. I'd have to dig out the pictures and scan one to post it. That actually might be kinda fun. Maybe I'll do that later. I'd be kinda scared to put a wedding picture and a current picture together in the same post though. Then I'd see that I'm not really 23 anymore the way my brain tells me I am!

| Golden Moray | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread I met Tommy when I was in 8th grade. I was at his cousin's house and he was bringing his date over to watch tv with his cousin's brother...and that was it...I was smitten. I was a late bloomer and exceptionally nerdy so, after seeing him around off and on for the next 4 years, we went on our first date (after I convinced him to take me out) on June 15, 2002, right after I graduated high school. It was a VERY rocky relationship mostly due to my baggage and his family not understanding. (Actually, some people have baggage, I have TRUNKS!) We were supposed to get married November, 2004 in his grandmother's church, but Hurricane Ivan hit and desimated it. (Hurricane Ivan was the 2nd strongest storm to hit the US, Katrina was the first). So, we put the wedding on hold until May 4, 2007. Our first wedding anniversary was this past Saturday and in June we will have been together for 6 years and we have a precious 5 month old little girl named Olivia. Pictures... 2005 ![]() ![]() ![]() Wedding ![]()

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread My wife and I have been together so long, cameras hadn't been invented yet... We met at Expo 74, the World's Fair in Spokane Washington. I was her boss in a "grounds maintenance" crew. We moved in together rather soon after our first date and married in June 1975. I still keep her around because it's cheaper to keep her...<roll eyes> She says I'm difficult to live with...but I think it's HER who's difficult...I'm easy. Just do it MY way. (like that ever works for me) Next month, we've been married for 33 years. This was us in April 2005 when our son got married in La Jolla. (San Diego) ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread what a beautiful family! it's a shame that being married as long as you two have has become a rarity. I hope tommy and I will be married as long. Any words of wisdom for us newlyweds?

| Golden Moray | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread Don't have many pics. My wife and I started our releationship back in 1997. We were both 20. By 1998 we had a child on the way, and went and had a courthouse wedding. We have ONE picture of our wedding day. Don't have it scanned though.. We just had our 10th Anniversary this last wednesday, May 7th 2008. Here are some semi-recent pics. I try to avoid the camera, so most of them are of my wife: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jason

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: O.T.: Anniversary Thread Well I would have to scan some old pics and maybeI will but the story is kind of interresting. We started dating in high school when I was 14 and he was 15. Feb 8 1982 (he can't believe I know the date lol). He gave me a promise ring for my 15th birthday. We dated pretty much all through high school with a few rocky places along the way. After Highschool he went into the Air Force and shortly after we broke up. He met someone shortly after and got married. Had 4 kids and then a divorce. Meanwhile I lead a wild life for a few years and then got married myself. Well we both got divorced around the same time and he and the kids came down to visit his parents. He called my sisters ex (who also went to school with) who called my sister. She told me he really wanted to see me and how life had changed me. I was like whatever. Meanwile she was doing the same to him. So basically we didn't want to see each other but my sister's lies made it happen. He badly needed a friend at the time and I became that friend. Soon it turned into more than friendship and we went to our 10 year reunion together. A couple of years later we got married on April 20,1996 so we just had our 12th anniversary. I'll try to find pics tomorrow. I know I have our prom pics and our wedding pics. I might be able to get something current as well if I let anybody take a picture of me. Anyway that is the story. I still wear the promise ring right next to my wedding ring.
