Re: California's are crazy!

You've got to be crazy to live in a state that is dangling by a thread before it drops into the ocean. Joking!

Re: California's are crazy!

With the wonderful seasons of eathquake, santa ana, brushfire and mudslide? Why would you want to live anywhere else?

Re: California's are crazy!

Naperville? Isn't that on the New Madrid fault?

I've seen more big earthquakes in Illinois recently than we've had in Kahleeforneeya

Re: California's are crazy!

That's mostly southern Il. In my personal experience I am more concerned about tornados. And sub zero temperatures. And over 100 in the summer.

Re: California's are crazy!

We get our share (and then some) of 100 degree days. I was just venting about them in the weather thread. I laugh at people who say they'd never live in Kahleeforneeya with the earthquakes, yet live in Tornado Alley or Hurricane Central...They KNOW there are going to be Hurricanes or Tornados EVERY YEAR, it's just a crap shoot if one will visit them or not...here, we know there are going to be earthquakes every year, (every week?) it's a crap shoot if we'll even feel one or not. I've lived in Kahleeforneeya 21 years this July, and have noticably felt 4 quakes; The Loma Prieta quake in 89 that brought down part of the bay bridge and Cypress structure, the 91 Northridge quake that wreaked havoc on northern LA, and 2 smaller ones that were about like driving over a curb in a truck. "BUMP" and it was over. Fortunately, we're not in what's considered Earthquake country, so the only time we really feel one is if someone else has a BAD one...then, it's a bit of bumping and shaking, but that's it...and a bit of residual excitement.

Re: California's are crazy!

I hope they didn't ruin that standup rod & reel by throwing it in the water. Cool video anyway .They surely had fun producing it. I wonder how it will effect sea levels here in Florida when Cali slides into the ocean. I wouldn't mind a little water front property .LOL

Re: California's are crazy!

I have family in San Diego & lived there for a short while. I loved it! I wonder what the northern Cali residents think of the southern residents . Here in Florida us northerners have strong opinions of those who live in south Fl. Is there a perceived crazy factor between the two on the left coast?

True California girl here - born and raised and the only way I'll ever leave is on a sailboat when the state slides into the ocean - then I'll head for Hawaii!!!
