Re: OT: motorcyles

Wow, lots of good options! I know a 250 is a bit small, but I'll be going about 45 mph for all but 1 mile of my commute. I won't need a lot of power. I'm mostly looking into the 500cc range.
Aesthetics really don't matter to me. I fully expect to lay it down eventually. I don't know any riders that haven't done it at least once. Although I will be taking a cycle safety course (required by the Navy before they will let me ride anyhow). CAT: as for my size... 5'10, 185lbs... I think I'm going to start touring the cycle shops next week to get a personal feel for them.
I did find an '03 Suzuki GZ250 on craigslist the other day for $850 since the guy selling it didn't know why fuel was getting into the crankcase. By the time I called him it was already sold... Hopefully I'll find a good steal like yours Whiskey. 40,000 miles for under $800?! Did you have to do any major repairs to get it running?

Re: OT: motorcyles

One of the guys that works with me rides his bike to work all year, and we live in Chicago! Rain, Snow, frigid cold, he doesn't care. I'll see if I can get a pic of it, it's a 1940ish harley, with a springer front end.

Re: OT: motorcyles

$25 at a yard sale with 322 miles on it. About $100 in repairs and new tires.

120 mpg - (max speed is 30mph, but I don't have to have a tag, cycle license, etc...) - some people have modified them to pull upwards of 70mph...
