Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

My non-MD explaination - Mono is a viral infection, usually present in everybody's body, but will become active so to speak when your immune system is down - many teens get it for that reason. They used to call it the kissing disease, thinking it was caught by smooching!! As far as I know it's not contagious in everyday situations, many people get it without knowing, they just feel run down for a few weeks, but some people get a super strain and are really sick. (lucky me!)

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

I did it!!! Got 20 minutes of cardio in this morning, may not seem like much -but for me to get any time in before work is a huge accomplishment. (So what if I'm late for court) Especially because I'm too tired after work to be motivated to do anything.. So, today is the first of many AM work outs. My goal is to up the time by 5 minute increments per week till I hit an hour.
It does feel great!!!

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

I've been having issues with one of my arches. So I need to get new running shoes and maybe extra support. I plan on doing yoga today. I am sure there are things I can do that that won't hurt my foot and won't have me hobbling around the house today. Other than that, it's grab a book and hit the stationary bike at the gym.

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

Good job Steph!!! I'm sure you will have alot of extra energy by exercising in the morning. 5 mins a weeks is a good goal to set.

Yesterday i did 4 miles on the treadmil @ a speed walk pace, 1 mile on the elliptical & 20mins of light weight (60-120lbs) arm/shoulder resistance.

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

For those of you looking into cardio, 3 years ago, I did this program with the end result being the 5k Bridge Run in Pensacola. Preparing for the run with a deadline kept me motivated. U'm working on the training program again but, because I was on either limited activity or bedrest for my entire pregnancy, I've had to actually work up to the first week of exercising. But, I'm telling you that it really works. This is coming from a person who has ZERO endurance. Before I knew it, I was running 3 miles...

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

Hey Becky, the arches are important, nice shoes & insoles go along want. those arch aches could lead to back & neck aches so that shoe support is vital. so the elliptical and bicycle will probably be the best to start off with to keep the strain off

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

I did upper body workout today, did 1 mile on treadmill prior to workout, and climbed 80 flights of stairs after the work out. Good workout today.

Re: OT WeightLoss Thread

This is going to be a disappointing day.
I highly doubt I will be getting much exercise. Once my husband came home, I did a few things that can not be done with the youngest hanging off me. 2 hours of water parameter testing on the tanks and some maintenance. Still have to do a water change on my son's tank and clean his equipment. That will be my next break. That'll take a chunk of time...then I need to get supper started. Husband will not be avaialble until late tonight. If I get to do anything or have any energy to do anything I will be surprised!

Back to working around the house!
