| Pumpkin Pie! | Re: OT: SPIDERS!!! totally freaked out Could be black widows, I found a similar nest years ago. The best way to get spiders is to suck them up in the vacuum. To eliminate them completely, you have to figure out what they are eating and get rid of that, otherwise they keep coming back. I don't like any sprays, they only kill the ones you see. It's just like with algae in the tank, you have to get to the root of the problem.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: OT: SPIDERS!!! totally freaked out I'm glad you couldn't find a pic. I am now totally freaked out with you. I would have left the house and demanded hubby deal with it before I would return. They are the only thing I would leave and make him deal with. I am usually not such a baby but spiders freak me out big time.

| Golden Moray | Re: OT: SPIDERS!!! totally freaked out Try this site for ID-ing I thought the little black spiders in my yard were baby black widows because Tommy found 2 females hanging out under a trellace going to our back yard...they look more like mouse spiders which don't bother me as much. And I found this about organic spider control.

| -CHAUVINIST PIG- | Re: OT: SPIDERS!!! totally freaked out those are most likely just cob-web spiders. same species as widows, just smaller. baby black widows are very skinny in comparison to their full grown size. they also have a striped mosaic coloration. the dont go all Black until their 4-5 molt. and of course, no matter the size, the will have an hourglasss pattern. your lil guys are probably just cob web spiders. they make a small pattern-less web. you find them in wood piles, rock piles, and in the corners of homes. youre fine. i used to have 4 black widows as pets.

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: SPIDERS!!! totally freaked out El Paso is full of widows. Generally, they have strong long legs, very similar to the legs found on a recluse. The young, when super young have stringy copper colored legs, and a white/black striped body. The males that I have seen seem to have a brown, sometimes slightly striped appearance. That bulbous description would scare me, but the only way to tell is to take look on the abdomen. Notice any strange webs in your house? They would never win any prizes for best web design. It's like willy-nilly everywhere. |
