The Cereal Thread

Rather than post a poll I decided to just ask what kind of cereal everyone likes.

I myself usually don't have time for breakfast. most mornings it's a mocha cappuccino or a glass of OJ, but occasionally I'll eat a bowl of cereal.

My absolute favorite is Captain Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch, but since I know that's not good for me, I only eat it when feeling the need to binge. Right now it's a box of Special K Vanilla Almond. pretty good stuff actually. I added some fresh strawberries when I decided I ought to eat around 10:45 am today.

Other favorites include honeycomb, strawberry blasted honeycomb, frosted miniwheats, honey nut cheerios, multi grain cheerios, mmmmmm...lucky charms. yum yum yum. gotta love that sugar rush in the morning. reeses puffs are pretty good and rice krispies treats are the nastiest cereal ever made. so are those chocolate pebbles. nasty stuff. sog city. fruit loops have taken a turn for the worse as have trix. what happened to those? I used to love those when I was a kid.

so many choices.

Don't eat breakfast usually. I have bought cereal and the brands that I have purchased are Kelloggs Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops and Captain Crunch. That about covers it.

I'm not really a breakfast carb in the morning type of person. It leaves me hungry in about an hour. Why waste the calories? I like protien in the morning better if I'm going to eat.

If I have cereal it's for an afternoon snack about once every few months. I like honey bunches of oats, honey nut cheerios, or grapenuts. I really would rather have real food though or a protien snack.

grapenuts? yuck.

a protein snack for breakfast? what...do you eat beef jerky or something? high protein, sure... beef jerky is highly underrated. teriyaki jerky is especially tasty.

protein shakes are where it's at though. low carb, low calorie, high protein. great way to start the morning of right. no fuss no muss, down it and you're on your way.

Every day - granola mixed with a Yoplait whipped yogurt.

I hardly ever sit down and eat just cereal -- when I do, I really hate the sweet stuff. Grapenuts or Raisin Bran, maybe Rice or Corn chex. It's not that I don't have a sweet tooth, I do, just not in cereal. Oh, and a bit of weirdness - I hate crunchy cereal - I have to wait until the milk makes it mushy before I'll touch it. Weird, I know.

My kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch & Frosted Flakes.

BLEEECH!!!! Why ruin perfectly good twigs, leaves, and gravel with spoiled milk?
I rarely have time to eat breakfast...unfortunately....but when I do its usually something like waffles fresh from the toaster munched dry w/ a glass of water or OJ while I'm racing out the door.

Far from a sweet tooth, (I like my sugar fermented, thank you), I ate Life cereal growing up, and like crunchy Meuslix whatever the heck you want to call it in the states here....makes for a fantastic German Fruestueck mit Butterbrot, Shinken und Kaffee.
