| Social Darwinism victim | Re: OT: Impossible question well, there's the one of the Iraqi girl with the blue eyes (think she's Iraqi), the one of Iwo Jima, and that Che Guevara photo, but none fit the description.

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Impossible question Well, I did google it based on the one name I did know, Ira Hayes...the rest of the crew: Mike Strank, Harlon Block, Franklin Sousley, Rene Gagnon, & John Bradley. It looked like only 4 people, but there were 2 on the other side helping when the photo was snapped. |

| Plate Coral | Re: OT: Impossible question Quote:
rlcline wins!!!! This photo was shot by Joe Rosenthal, and was actually the SECOND flag raising on iwo jima. An officer thought the flag was to small so sent up a second larger flag. Rene Gagnon, John Bradley, and Ira Hayes were the only soldiers out of the Six that made it through Iwo Jima. BONUS Name the photgrapher who shot the first photo of the Iwo Jima flag raising | |
