Looks like we have a stumper. The answer to the question was Behram. He was an Indian thug who strangled 931 people between 1790-1840.

WOW that is one sick person!! to manually strangle almost 1000 people. in 50 years!!! truely INSANE.

But wikipedia says:

Attribution of so many killings to this one murderer is, however, the product of confusion and mistaken reporting of unchecked statements. The original source for Behram's 'confession' is a manuscript on Thuggee written by James Paton, an East India Company officer working for the Thuggee and Dacoity Office in the 1830s. Paton's MS - now in the British Library - states that Behram had merely estimated that he had "been present" at 931 cases of murder, the killings themselves being committed by a gang of 25 to 50 men, at least half a dozen of whom, other than Behram himself, would have played an active role as stranglers

But he still beats out Hitler, he was never present

I guess I shouldn't have said never, i did know better. If any of you get the opportunity to visit the holicoust museum in DC. you should go, quitest museum I have ever been to. very sad, hard to believe.

I've been there. I was rushed when I was there (one can spend a good chunk of time just waiting in line to get in), I meant to go back, but it just didn't happen. It is a very sad place to be. Now that I have kids, those are some images I do not want them to see.
