Breeze is blowing over the marina and the sun is getting ready to set. Screen door to let air in, and just got home from my cycling class, time to shower and enjoy the evening.

I come from where it is steamy in the summer. Yeah, it can get uncomfortable. But I have to say, I have no problems with skin hydration there...here, dry skin is the battle. I go home for one week, and it is like the desert never happened to me. I am still not accustomed to breathing here...meaning I always have humidifiers running.

OK how's this for "spring" it's 40* and 81% humidity outside - it's only 5am but where's the spring weather - I have had enough of winter!!

I am so enivous of you guys & gals with the warm sunny weather - I personally would love it west or south - I love warm weather and I have never visited AZ or CA but could imagine that would be fantastic - esp. with low humidity!

However I think I am about as far south as my life will take me - Terry keeps arguing with me about moving to Canada - so when faced with that - DC isn't all that bad I suppose!

Oh HELL NO! I grew up in western Massachucetts, spent several months in North & South Carolina, Virginia, and Jawja.. I remember the hot & humid summers all too well. It just about takes an act of Gawd to get me east of the Rockies anymore...
Oddly enough, you'd think Hawaii would be very humid, being on an island an all, but by comparison to the South and Northeast, it's almost deserty.
However, when it's in the high 80's there, and the tradewinds die off...and the humidity climbs...it gets close.

Craig: Illinois...to where I will be returning when we are done with the military.

Patti: Before we came here, we lived at Ft. Belvior. It was pretty much the same as living in Illinois weatherwise, except that area gets hit a little harder by tropical storms. I believe it was Hurricane Isabella...I was pregnant, and left work early because Route 1 is a crappy place to get stuck in a storm around 5-6 PM. It had been downgraded to a nasty tropical storm. I made it through our gate right before the crap hit!

Ft. Belvior - is not far at all!!! Oh yes Rt. 1 is the worst - I used to live in Springfield infact my 100 yo grandfather still lives in Springfield and he still drives in that area!

I just love the beach - my parents have a place in Myrtle Beach SC and I love it there - but I love any beach. I do not like cold much at all - but for the love of my life I will stay here in VA - he won't go any further south and he spent time in Phoenix and said no way not ever again - so here is where we are. My sister and I have a pact sort of (mostly a joke) that when we are old 100 & 90 yo we will have a lil shack on the beach somewhere - my only requirement is indoor plumbing (bathroom) other than that I wouldn't care if it had windows or even doors!!!

I actually miss that area, to a degree. There was always something to do. I used to hang out at the National Gallery for lunch breaks in front of my favorite portrait of Napolean Bonaparte.

I also miss Baltimore, long drives to Virginia Beach or Ft. Story, Boyd's Bears in Gettysburg...

My son lives right in DC on Capitol Hill and he LOVES living there. Hates the traffic but loves the city life. He's looking to buy a place right now and would like to stay near where he's at.
