Re: OT: How's the weather?

I was on limited activity for my first two trimesters because I had a complete placenta previa. Once my last trimester came around, my bp was consistently in the 160's/110 + range if I was upright for longer than 5 minutes. That includes sitting. I'm SO lucky it went back down to normal after Olivia was born. It took about a month, but it's normal again.

On a more somber note. Tommy just got home, and left again for a union meeting, but he told me that a friend of his' (a guy he used to work with and who lives around the corner) brother killed his wife and shot himself on Tuesday. Keep him in your thoughts. He's not taking it very well. His wife said that he hasn't spoken since he found out about it. He's in Louisiana with his family right now.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

What are the side effects you get from your BP medication?

I always had low BP but no longer, now I need to takethe same meds you do. When I did cardiac excersizes once per week for an hour and no salt in my diet I kept it under control without meds but not after my job changed..Be well Diane

Re: OT: How's the weather?

Diane,
I feel OK now, just really tired.
I started my pills this morning. I had a dry cough and lightheadedness. The lightheadedness last most of the day. Spent a lot of time on the couch resting.
I still need to exercise. It helped a little in the past, not enough to keep me in the clear. I dropped into the 130s...but stayed in the 90s. I normally am around 142/95.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

I may have had similar mild side effectgs at first but didnt last long enough to relate it to the meds. I just heard on the news today that taking a nap is benficial for reducing HBP, too bad its the only time you have for yourself when the little ones are taking there naps to get anything done. I gues we need to s l o w d o w o n and ignore the neighbors. (mine has a swimmig pool that has been empty for two years EXCEPT for stagnant water from the last rainfall breading mosqitos.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

I've been avoiding them all week, but they had my house key since they watched my house and tanks last weekend. They will be moving soon, so I needed to get the key. Figured I was calm just enough today to handle it. Didn't want them to drop it of over here since their kid is the destructive hyperactive type.

I usually do not nap unless I am sick.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

The winds kicked up late last night and kept me up for awhile.
Should be in the 70s until Monday.
I don't know what I am doing this weekend. Need to work on the 4yr old's bed, thought about buying a cleaner shrimp, but I don't know if I am in the mood.
No meds for me this morning. I need to get on something else so back to my usual BS.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

Craig, I'v been to two Pink Flyod concerts. Always memerable!!! The last one I had to wait in long lines and they drew lotteries to get the tickets. We took our son who didnt know who Pink Floyd was at the time he was in Jr Hi. He was BLOWN away. Sounds like the weather completed a perfect concert experince. I Love PF.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

Well it's 85 and sunny. Will be in the mid 90s inland SJS (Steph) is in for a warm one. Took a top down drive into the Santa monica Moountains this morning and what a blast.

I've got a steak on the grill and eggs in the skillet, yummy brunch before it's time to hit the beach!

Diane,

Yes Pink Floyd is a real innovative group and used that saxaphone like nobody in rock had before. You are so lucky to have seen them twice Diane!

He tried me on 3 or 4 others before we settled on atenolol. That one has brought the BP down from an average of 200/100 to about 130/75...MUCH better.

It's normal to be tired and feel worn out for the first week or so on BP meds.

Craig, I'm envious as hell over the Pink Floyd concert...

Sunny and 86 here. Unfortunately, with finals week coming up, I have no time for recreational activities other than a bit of web-surfing and posting... BUT, I have less than 2 weeks till it's over...until I start summer semester in June...

I've been working on my bookkeeping practice set for days and STILL can't get the dammed thing to balance...every day, it's something different that doesn't work...

Ah well, it's only due Monday...

HOPEFULLY, I'll get around to mowing the lawn either today or tomorrow...It's starting to look like Sanford & Sons here...

Re: OT: How's the weather?

200/100! Yeow! Glad to see you are still with us.
I was told to quit taking the med if I developed the cough. I'll call the clinic on Monday to leave a message. The doc gave me some homework to find what my parents are using. He might want to go that direction.

I'll get it figured out.

Got a few things done and nothing done at the same time today. The house is a wreck, but I did the grocery shopping. Hung out at the bank and got my husband to help me clean his tank equipment. I also got the QT set up and ready to go just in case I find something at the LFS today. Anyway the 16 month ols is ready for something in QT. Last night I was fart around with some gracilaria in the fuge...saw a nudibranch. Carefully removed him and tossed him in QT, just to have something to look at for a little while. When the 16 month old saw the light on in the tank he was looking all over the place for a fish.

Re: OT: How's the weather?

Had a good time at the LFS. Saw a few MAS members. We were all fighting over what fish we wanted. Outsiders wouldn't even come near the tank we were in front of.
