| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | Re: OT: How's the weather? Weather was fabulous. Ran in the sand at the beach today and no pain in my surgically repaired knee. While at the beach, I was able to rescue a brown pelican that was all bound up in fishing line. It was laboring in the surf and when it tried to swim out I could see the lime green line binding it's wings together. I walked a few feet away and waited for the waves to push it back into shore. When it was beween me and the beach, I was able to subdue the pelican by holding its beak againts it's neck. I asked a girl who was watching if she would give me her shirt, she had a bathing suit on, and I covered the birds head to calm it. We both worked to unravel the line which was around both feet and it's wings. Once free, I removed the shirt and let the bird go. It dried it's wings and rested on the for about an hour before taking flight. Hope ya'll had a good day.

| Golden Moray | Re: OT: How's the weather? It's cooler, in the upper 70's but we're getting the remnants of Fay so it's muggy, rainey, windy and there are tornado and flash flood warnings all over the place. Oh, just another day on the gulf coast!
