OT: How's the weather? - Page 178

Great pics! I have been in the same situation time and time again. Thank god for basements. I actually had one go through my backyard earlier this year, causing some damage.

Here is a couple pictures from Thursday 6-12-08.. Major flooding in our area.. In towns around us flood water has picked up house, animal, propane tank, campers... When these rains start they come FAST... There was a family in a jeep going down a road with no major water way around them... it flushed the jeep a good 100 feet with the family inside. They estimated 8 foot of water....

Anyway, this is my yard which is V shaped... The water running through my yard made a stream about 3 feet deep and the last picture will be a gutter that has at least 5-6 feet of water... This happened with in a 10 minute time frame... No warning..

This was right down the street from my house yesterday.. I did not take the pic.. nabbed it from our local paper.. There is no river, or anythiong nearby this. Its just rainwater.:

Whoa, those clouds were really scary looking I can imagine your thoughts going to the basement. Mother nature can dish it out.
It was 109 here today we went to a party on the other side of the valley, and it was even hotter there Im pretty sure. They had some fans that blew misted water from coolers out to help keep the patio heat somewhat cooler. We had a good time reconnecting with old friends.

I just stepped out side and it's already oven warm in the shade. The air is still and not a could in the sky so it will probably be 110 by afternoon today.

holy crap....tomorrows fathers day....great now what do I do.

Anyway the weather. It's been dark and dreary all day which works out..I was getting sick of all that sun and especially all that heat. The windows are open and the house is airing out. My weather bug tells me it's 62 which is believable. Nice breeze too..took a long nap today (not outside mind you) feeling kinda blah today.

Day in the sun, beach was awesome. Now a top down drive to indoor cycling, should be a beautiful drive!

Vicki, I like your yard...look at all that green grass! Too bad for all of the BS weather. Those clouds would have scared the crap out of me, as well.!

New addition on 4-14-07 of 100 gallon sump and 100 gallon refugium. I think I have lost my mind. Gotta love this hobby Vicki Life is like a pathway of untrodden snow.
