We have been having some awesome storms lately. Tornado warnings and all.

Today is sunny and 78!!!

<sigh> no nap for me today. I have to meet a lady in less than 2 hours to buy a textbook from her that I need for my summer semester classes. $40 for a book that sells in the campus bookstore for $90...

no reef goodies for me anymore Craig...I've been "tankless" for over 3 years. I don't really need to buy used books from other students, you taxpayers...I mean my vocational program will pay for new books at the campus bookstore with no problem, but I consider this a win-win sort of thing. I get my books a bit cheaper, which saves money in my program for other things, plus the student gets more for their textbook than they'd get at the campus bookstore during their "buyback" program.
(I took one set of books back my first semester. I paid about $140 for them...they offered me $17...I kept the books and traded them with another student for a book I needed.)

Books are freakin expensive. Because I was a history major, I had about 7 books per class...all way overpriced. By the time I got to grad school I spent very little on books. I was able to interlibrary loan and keep whatever books I needed for 4 months. Was just enough to get me by.

The big news here is the SoCal tornado! We don't get very many tornados here in Granola-land, so when we do,

Fire season seems to be starting here pretty early this year. Several burning in SoCal, a fairly good sized on in the Santa Cruz mountains south of San Francisco, and we've had grass fires all around the region in the past several days.
