New Dirtbike

Megan got her new dirtbike lastnight.
She has been wanting something that she can race with, and do some freestyle. She was looking at a CR85L
But the guys at the Dirtbike shop talked her into a 4stroke. I was very dissapointed, as all I have ever had was 2 strokes. I was afriad that she would not be able to keep up with me and my friends. Well she got a CRF150 Expert. I just got off of it and all I can say is WOW!! I cant believe how fast that bike is. I is probably in between a CR85 and CR125. She is sooo happy. We will get some pics of it later.

good friend of mine had an '05 CRF150, they are ok, they do get up and go for a small 4 stroke...I would have went with a 2 stroke my self....way to go...time to get it DIRTY!!!

Funny...my main passion is motorcycles....and I see this on the reef forum! hahaah.
10 years ago everyone racing motorcycles was on a 2 stroke! Now 4-strokes have taken over. There are zero two strokes left in AMA supercross and outdoor nationals. For the mini racers Honda made the CRF 150 to compete with 2-stroke 85's. The rest of the manufactures will follow soon....
With the exception of professional freestyle, 2-stroke motorcycles are a thing of the past.

Wait a sec.....I was just thinking about my nitrate problem. How did I get sidetracked? hahahahah!

The new CRF150 Expert is nothing like the old ones. The 2008 model is not even comparable to the 2007 model. This is a racing bike. And I would be willing to be that it would have NO problem keeping up with a CR85. And trust me I am 2stroke all the way.

We just got a Yamaha 230, 4 stroke, for Christmas and it makes you hang on!

It really has a ton of "get up and go"

I have a 2006 CRF230 and it moves also but nothing like my 98 RM 250

The new CRF150 Expert is faster than the 2006 CRF230. My Uncle has the 230 and it couldnt touch this new 150. But the 150 couldt touch my RM125

Do you need a motorcycle license for the offroaders? I've been interested but am too sidetracked with the munchkin to really get into it. Got my learner's permit once but... Is it alot different than street bikes?

I love riding two stroke anything but the new 4 strokes are getting tough. All the pros going with them too

Kathy- To ride offroad bikes all you need is a bike. Even little kids can ride. They even make little bikes with training wheels.

an 85cc 2 stroke engine will release as much heavy hydrocarbons into the atmosphere as a 500cc 4 stroke engine. Its about time we sacrificed our need/want for POWER and went with smarter greener tech. Hopefully the 2 stroke engine will go the same way as the frankenfreak American muscle car, to the boneyard.

Sorry, but I will always be a 2-stroke fanatic. Most manufacturers are converting to all 4 strokes. But Yamaha is starting to push the large two strokes again. They are completly revamping them. I cant wait to see whats in store.~Michael
