OT: Anybody watch tonight's Survivor?

They found these beautiful giant Triacnid clams and were eating them. They said they tasted great. Broke my heart to see.
Not to mention how much they could have sold for in the aquarium trade.

I hope they get food poisoning.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Hollywood...Go figure. I did not see it, but I can imagine...They scream about tang harvesting in Hawaii, but they eat these awesome clams for ratings.

What hypocrisy...

Lynn, you should write the network and tell them how you feel. Better yet, post a letter on here and maybe we can sign it and all send it to the network.

Re: OT: Anybody watch tonight's Survivor?

I seriously doubt a letter would make a difference particularly since they are a common food in some cultures. Apparently they are consumed in large numbers in Japan and some other countries. Usually those are smaller than the ones on the show but still the same animal.

Re: OT: Anybody watch tonight's Survivor?

i totally understand the concern, but you have to remember these guys for one are basically surviving on their own. I would probably have eaten it to if there was nothing else to eat even though i love them as an ocean species. and you have to understand that cultures out there are so different then ours. some look at us and think of us in disgust because we eat cow, or pig, or something like that and we look at them in horror because they eat what they eat. the world is very diverse and some of these cultures have probably done this for many many years. probably longer then america has been america.

Re: OT: Anybody watch tonight's Survivor?

Sorry I don't watch the show...I was working off the premise that these people on survivor are not from Singapore, Japan, China, or the Pacific Ocean...but are playing a game.
