What is cool is when you feel the rumble and hear the windows rattle.
Actually night launches are my favorite. It's like sunrise.
Hubby will get some cool pics from work on Mon then he goes to Houston the week after to do nothing but look at pics from the arm for 3 days.
I may get some really cool stuff then. It depends on what they let him take home and what he can't
The thing that stinks is that there are only 8 more launches then the program is scrapped.
I hate that and not only because my husband will lose his job.

He's had a mostly good 20 yrs. He actually works for United Space Alliance who is a sub-contractor. He gets to do and see some pretty cool stuff including have lunch with the astronauts etc,

Nice pics Lynn, it's cool to see that I am not the only "space" freak around here. BTW discovery is going to be running a series on Nasa and the space shuttles showing pictures and videos that have never been released to the public before sometime soon but I forget exactly when.

Well this is something a little different.
Post Launch damage from the North Flame Trench (the SRB side) That's a 20' X 40' section blown out at 2000 MPH. Anyone know a brick layer and fence repair man?

Nope.
Some damage is normal and the fence usually takes a beating but it isn't usually that bad.
The worst part IMO is that the whole area is a wildlife refuge and any animals nearby are quickly roasted. I guess there is no way to avoid it and the animals are protected from everything else.
So far no launch pics. Apparently the usual pic people aren't working today. Hopefully tomorrow.
