ThanksGiving

an open topic, no need to reply to an above post. what are you doing? why? what are you thankful for.

for myself. im thankful my mom is alive and able to spend thanksgiving with us. last yr at this time she was in ICU. all 3 of my children will be home with us this yr as well. it will be a great time, no matter how much we may fuss~

i have a good job that pays the bills and allows me a few creature comforts, one being my tank.i feel it is given me to help soothe my stress and to allow me to handle the ravages of everyday life.

im thankful for a woman that loves me for what i am...im not much, but i try, and she accepts it. she allows me my idosincracies, as i do hers. its a good relationship and from it we survive with eachothers help.

im thankful for my children. i see in them the good and the bad of me. it allows me to guide them in life,,,,i hear my parents echoing,,,,"i know you would listen some day" as my kids will hear me.

im thankful for my friends here....we may not or even never flesh-meet,,,but you are my friends.

i raise a toast you you all,,,,and pass the torch~

NEXT~

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: ThanksGiving

Thanksgiving for me is rather unconventional...I celebrate it by working!
It is a very busy day at the shop (everyone buying the wine for thier thanksgiving diners). My familly drops by throughout the day to help out as it gets a bit crazy. Either one of my sisters or my mom stay home cooking the thankgiving meal and we try to close shop by 8pm(ofthen under protest from customers) to take a quick shower and say grace before enjoying the late meal. *burp*
For this, and everything else I have, I am humbly gratefull. That my mom can join us form yet another year. That, although the familly gets smaller with each passing year, we all manage to get together and sit at the table.
Because, eventhough I appreciate all the comforts provided by material things....at the end of the day...when all is said and done...nothing is more important than familly

Re: ThanksGiving

I don't think it is a matter of proclaiming to the world of what we are thankful for, it is a matter of self and knowing what it is and thanking the one that has made it come about, from spiritual to physical.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Good thing I am not trying to win brownie points, huh?

Re: ThanksGiving

Being thankful, appreciative and aware of all we have on a day to day basis is true happiness. I am thankful of all my friends here on RS and glad I am granted yet another day to interact with them and enjoy them. And I am appreciative that they are able to help me improve the quality of life of all my salty friends who all improve my quality of life. And I am aware how lucky I am.

Thank you all just for being you.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: ThanksGiving

Well said Witful, I just returned from a friends house where a bunch every year gather to deep fry turkey & hams. 10 turkeys & a couple bloody Mary's later, I'm finding it hard not to sample the bird. Gotta wait until 2:00! I'll be having dinner with My Mother, brother, his wife& my brat niece Erica. I'm looking forward to it! There were some major changes in my life the last couple years. I'm grateful that it was worked out OK. Have a good Day everyone, especially those who are doing all the cooking & such.
