Re: OT: Take Time To Smell the Roses

Brings back memories of the Beltway Sniper. We were afraid to go to Home Depot, for fear of being a target. The HD by our house had large semi trucks parked all around the parking lot to create barriers to gun fire. It was a relief when those two sickos were caught.

Love the wolf. Is it looking at you or the birds. "My, what big teeth you have...!"

Re: OT: Take Time To Smell the Roses

Oh, geez, almost forgot about that!! We moved around the Arlingotn area RIGHT after they were caught. Scary stuff. Visited both the HD and the gas station were people were picked off. Creepy.

See, even the poor wolf isn't safe from the dentist checking out their teeth.

The wolf was looking at me, the birds were no where near this place. They are so pretty. I think that this person breeds and sells, not really sure.

No leisurely walk today, spent my day in PT and Dr. office. The conclusion to that visit, another month of PT, and 2 more MRI's.

Well, am off to be creative. Yes, Craig, elves wear red.

Depends on what elf you are looking at. I look better in red so I am a red elf....

Ok, now onto the walk this morning. first I took a wrong turn ended up near one of my favorite settings. I love driving back through this road, it reminds me of the many trail rides I used to go on. Everytime I ride back through there, I hear the clip clop clip clop of a horse in my distant memory bank coming forth. If the weather is right I can almost feel the movement and smell the leather, the pleasantness in the air.

After getting back on track I went to the usual place since I am kind of tight on time today. The usual was blustering with all kinds of activity, there were research boats lined up in the water and among all of them there were two little old ladies in kayaks going out on that river. NOT ME, nope, not there, not on a kayak, or a canoe...that is alligator alley right there. Anyway, there was a catch, weigh, and release thing going on today in this section of the river. That would have been interesting to watch.

While they were all busy getting ready to do their thing I continued on with mine or tried. I found a section of wooded area that was teaming with all kinds of birds, but the wardens were making too much noise that the birds wouldn't stay still. I did get a shot of this one, although this isn't the type of birds I was talking about.

Took a picture of the lily I like, there is a little fly or bee on it.

Found a spider web too and of course had to take a picture of it, love those webs. This web is different, simple yet a portion a bit complex. I like it.

Some cool little flowers growing in the marsh.

Each day I am out taking pictures of nature at it's finest it never ceases to amaze me that the things we see on land are very similar to the things we have in our tanks. In fact I had thought that when I decide to sponsor the photo contest that my theme would be to match something in your tank with something in nature and both photos would have to be posted. I will give an example later, because I am pressed for time and have to look for those pictures. This next photo does kind of remind me of what I am talking about. These flowers although aren't the best example do remind me of Zoos that are closed. Or even the photo above. I will post a better example later.

As many times as I have been to this place also I have never seen this before or if I had I just never paid much attention to it. This little rock which is really kind of pretty sits beneath a small tree and has a little bush of flowers around it. The Memory rock has a heart and is engraved with someone's name and says Always in our hearts. He was 32 .

Near teh marsh I found a lot of these shells lying around. They were completely gutted and I wonder if perhaps some coons had a feast last night or if a boater had brought them in and discarded their shells by the marsh. They were every where, but they were really clean! ???

Found a little patch of ferns that I liked

and while I was walking back from them I saw an ant home. Now you talk about a home builder. WOW!

There was one problem , after I walked away from it trying very carefully not to step on their home I saw this staring down at me. OMG! Someone shrunk Cat or this was a mighty big ant!

By the time I got back to my car I was normal size again, but I was really scared down there in that world. Very frightening>.

......and make room in the garage...subliminal messages throughout!

Re: OT: Take Time To Smell the Roses

Following you on your walks is really fun. It's almost like being there with you. Maybe I'll bring my camera next time I walk around the lake here at work. Lots of ducks and swans and even a mean goose.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
