Today's walk kind of got side tracked. I had a few errands to run and when I stopped by the attorney's office to see my friend the train that runs behind the office was stopped and there were policceman all over the place. She and I walked outside and lo and behold in the parking lot farther down the street was firetrucks and paramedics....I grabbed camera and walked down and there sat one lucky kid. He was on the tracks in a 150 pu truck and had to bail...I was asked to take pictures for two different insurance companies and its amazing to see a 150 turned into a S10 in a matter of seconds. Train is still blocking at least 3 intersections and this was at approximately noon. The engine also had damages. I can't post the pictures because of legalities right now, but as soon as I shoot these to the people through email I plan on hitting the beach today for my walk.

Ok here are catch up time pictures. The first one is what happens when you don't get off train tracks in time. Identifying information was removed so it should be ok. So watch out for trains.



This second shot is an old picture from one of my walks, it is a baby gator and is actually in one of the canals in my neighborhood. Always assume there is a gator in Florida waters.



The next few pictures are of a church that I think is one of the coolest churches I have ever seen. However, to me it doesn't look like a church. I think it looks like it should have gargoyles outside. I would like to have a small version of a house like this. I took these pictures on the way to my brother in laws on Thanksgiving. I wasn't walking so I guess I cheated with these. The other coolest church is in Pensacola, particularly this time of year. St. Anns Catholic Church, you should see the Christmas lights they put up. Flricordia should know where I am talking about. People come from all over the world to see that light display. I know at one time it was over 100 k lights. Absolutely beautiful!





OK Craig, I made it to the beach today. Was kind of a crummy day for it and there wasn't too much activity. I think Nature was taking a break. Probably out shopping!

The first picture is going over the bridge to Orchid Island. I had to snap quickly because I wasn't able to sit still on the bridge for long. This is a pretty view when you can enjoy it.



Hey and look at this, this is what Florida is made of...Coquina rock. I think you can see that it is made up of hundreds of tiny shells. This rock is used in conjunction with ornamental displays, often seen around ponds, water falls and some just have big boulders of this in their landscaping.



Here is a beach shot. Sure isn't anything like the beach I am accustomed to in Pensacola. Beautiful white beaches on the Gulf there. However, this can be just as pretty though in it's own way, today was just a crappy overcast kind of day.



Now these are of one of my favorite beach birds. I love to watch these little guys run around. They go so fast. In and out of the waves and hardly get their little feet wet they move so fast. Little sandpipers.





Very worn shells. Makes you wonder how long they have been tossed around in the water to get this smooth.



Heres another picture of some little shells. Nothing fantastic, just shells littering the beach.

I plan on going back another day to get better pictures. Next time I will go when I have more time and the weather is more co-operative. Those pictures will be better because I will go to a different area also.

Well its -12 here, so enjoy the overcast, dreary skies. Much nicer than icy roads, salt creep on your car, and spending the next 3 months mainly indoors BTW loving the pics and the commentary.

The tides wash many things away so that the beach may begin anew.
I wish I lived closer to the beach.

I think I know where I'm going Sunday.

Those darker clouds you see were actually going away, but was overcast or dreary today, It just wasn't as it usually is...you're a clam what do you know about overcast skies? then again maybe it was just me......
