OT: Banking Q

Can someone please explain to me how this works......

I bank with Regions...and right now I have a ledger balance of about $100 (didn't make it to the bank on friday). But have pending transactions that equal $107 it's been like that all weekend of course because the bank has been closed.

my question is will those pending transactions go through in the morning or later tomorrow???? If I'm at the bank as soon as they open can I make my deposit and that go through b4 the pending transactions go through?

I've been looking online all night trying to find that simple answer but no luck. I'm still a child and still learning all this banking stuff. But I'm freaking out!!!! So please help!!

I'm so embarresed to even have to put this up but I don't know who else to ask.

Re: OT: Banking Q

chances are the charges will go through tonight in their bath processing.
Just depends on the computer validation of the charges. Some charges take a couple days to validate.
But if not if you get in first thing tomorrow you should be o.k. with your deposit.

Re: OT: Banking Q

It's possible they will go through in the WEE hours of the morning as they bank will "process" sometime after midnight tonight.

I wont/can't go into details but that's fairly common practice for some banks. That's one reason why I changed financial institutions last year. I went to a local credit union and it's been so sweet since then.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: OT: Banking Q

You will probably be ok if you get your deposit in in the morning-each financial institution has slightly different policies, but usually pending items will be affected by what you do before the next "close of business" time, which for our local Regions branch is 2:00 in the afternoon. Good Luck and don't panic-

Thank you framerguy. That puts my mind at ease so now maybe I can sleep. I stayed up late tonight just to check my account at 12:00 and no charges. So I'll make my deposit tomorrow and hopefully be in the clear.

Thank you again everyone for the responses.

Lol I swear I think I'm OCD sometimes. I worry over everything and I can't function until I know it's ok. I think that's why in the past I've posted some pretty dumb threads LOL.....can't help it sorry.

Re: OT: Banking Q

If you can make your deposit CASH that will help a lot. Sometimes your deposit will go into pending as well if it is a check.

Re: OT: Banking Q

So of course this morning Ben couldn't get his car to start....dead battery. So he has to take my car to work. And of course at the time I didn't care....It's 5 in the morning I don't care what you do. But then I wake up at about 7 and realize I have no car to go make my deposit. Could this week get any worse.

But then my wonderful neighbors get home and they take me. And Melanie I took your advise cashed the check the deposited it. Thank you

Good call Mel! That's one way to get around it as long as the check you cashed is GOOD

Re: OT: Banking Q

Do you have a savings account linked to your checking? Sometimes they'll just pull the money out of your savings to cover the charges and then charge you a fee.

Lol AL the check was GOOD.....It was Ben's work check.

I need to do that Cat. I usually don't ever come that close to being at 0 so hopefully this won't happen again.
