People come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: OT: Men of RS Thread...

I got a question about alcohol.

Is there such a thing as a GOOD sipping whiskey?

I've tried all kinds of beer... just can't get the taste of it anymore.
So, I started drinking White Russians... pretty good, but a bother to make... two shots of this, two shots of that, ice and half/half. I was thinking about just pouring something in a glass with ice and drink it... no mixing.

I'm not a big alcohol drinker anymore and just wanted something in the evening to help unwind.

A friend of my wife came over, she had Crown Royal... blah. I didn't like that at all.

Back when I did drink, I drank to get drunk... so, I don't remember what the stuff used to taste like. Whiskey was whiskey... it didn't matter what brand.

Bowlerman, a little crown (or even JD) with lemonade will knock yer socks off! And no, there's no such thing as a good sippin' whiskey.

Re: OT: Men of RS Thread...

BWLR...if you like to drink whiskey yet want something with a different taste, may I suggest a single malt whiskey that has been aged an extra step in a barrel used for wine. There are quite a few of these out there now. After therequired years in oak barrels they decant it into barrels that were previosly used for sherry or port . This extra time allows the wood to impart its particular complexity and taste.Popular brands that do this are glenfidich, balvenie and glenmorangie

Re: OT: Men of RS Thread...

Thanks booze.

How about a good scotch?
Or is that just as harsh as crown or jd?
Scotch is just a blended whiskey, isn't it?
