| Social Darwinism victim | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Oh my god at 4 years of age, we have giddiness over boys. I thought I had another 6 to 8 years before that. For the past 3 days I have gotten the child off the bus and she has made it a big point to call after Bobby and make funny laughing sounds of stick out her tongue or some such thing. And last month at parent teacher conferences we had reports of her and another little girl liking the same boy. Oh brother. I'm in so much trouble when she's a teenager. Between that and the battle over clothes and shoes and makeup... OH makeup!!! She has learned to put on lipstick better than I do. We got her that 12-hour stuff you paint on and go over with gloss for her recital (stage makeup essentially). She wore it for the dress rehersal and has used "her" makeup (my older stuff I give her) every day after school since. She comes home, asks me if she can use her lipstick (it only gets used at home) and marches her little self upstairs and patiently studies her application in the little mirror I gave her. She has her own dressing "station" with a mirror and her jewelry box and her cosmetics where she does her girly stuff. It's hysterical.

Plus, there was a magical feeling of relief when she turned 21; I was no longer actually "responsible" for her actions. She was always a Good Egg and there were never any serious problems, just the fighting to keep her on the right course!Length of time? I'd say from 10-11 until within the last year, so that's about 10-11 years! Now granted, she has ADD and some learning disabilities so that factors into the equation definitely, so it probably lasted a bit longer with her than most.

I only lasted 'til the 3rd grade in Catholic school and was never boy crazy! I moved out at 16 with a buddy of mine, got married at 19, but it took my wife 10 years for me to grow up kinda. I suffer terribly from Peter Pan Syndrome! ![]()

| Madame Klanganator | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Craig, Andrea IS a doll, and she is one of the best people I know.. and I'd say that even if she wasn't my daughter. She is wonderful! She has the best heart and such a good mind. I love her completely. I've read that the brain doesn't mature until the age of 25! Makes perfect sense to me after watching my kids grow up. All three of them have said how weird they were as teens, and that gave me a real laugh. They've all said "WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?"

I do not see too many marriages lasting more than a few years when starting out that young. This is excluding military marriages. Military marriages fail at any age and fail often. | |

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Ugh I have a feeling that this is going to be a weekend. If the incompetent MPs don't show up soon, I might just burn the neighbor's house down to the ground. First off, housing contractors cannot put a house together for crap. Our water heater closets doors do not fit the frames. Hell mine blew off in a wind storm a few months back. Housing put a latch on and all was well. Well, that does nothing for the water heater closet belonging to my doofball neighbors 5 feet away. They took the latest dead rabbit out and threw up against my house so that I get the nasty flies all over my house through the ventilation system. So we got dumb contractors mixed with brain damaged residents. I am getting a beer. |

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread I hate military neighbors. It's the nightmare no one should have to discover. I think out of 3 neighborhoods I have lived in, I have only liked 2 of my neighbors. Considering the high turnover in neighborhoods, assume I have had a couple dozen sets of neighbors and then some. A lot of trashy people...more aggravating than Hillbilly Hell....although, I did think of Pigtails while listening to the neighbors behind me informing some doofball over the phone telling some soldier how to beat his eviction notice and not pay bills. Uh, we are all senior enlisted bozos through here, he should have been telling that idiot to check in with Army Community Services and take the free class on how to live within your means. The reason I thought of Pigtails...they had some wicked twangs over there. I kept waiting for someone to yell out "Cletus!". Brain damage. The MPs came and collected Cottontail. Housing is on their way out since I went mad-monkey. |
