| Golden Moray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread it sounds like you've given that a lot of thought, which makes me wonder how badly you've been burned.

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Bob, you have no idea...honestly. Ladies, what would you consider to be the minimum requirements of your spouses to keep you from being the nagging wife you do not want to be? I'll go first, and these are low expectations...Instead of piling trash on top of trash, take it outside. Instead of surprising me with doing dishes once a year, try once a month. If you know that the dishwasher is empty, don't toss your dirty dishes on the counter. You can spend your money, have fun...but if I am left to find out how to pay the bills while you are out having a good time, expect your purchases to be found at the city dump. For those few times that I get out to do whatever, actually look at the kids for a few seconds to see what they are up to. |

| Golden Moray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread ooooo...I like this one. The following is all I expect, and have asked my husband to do: 1. Take out the trash. This includes the diaper genie and the litterbox. We hane an automatic pooper scooper so all you have to do is remove a basket and replace it. 2. Put away the laundry. I sort, pre-treat, wash, dry and fold. Considering the fact that we go through at least 5-7 loads a week, the majority of which is his, the least he can do is put them away. 3. Pick up after himself. This means taking his dishes to the kitchen when he's finished. If the dishwasher has dirty dishes in it, the go ahead, rinse his dishes and put them in there. Pick up his towels off the floor and hang them up. If he takes something or moves something, put it back. That's it. I don't think it's too much to ask and I shouldn't have to. It would be nice for him to suprise me every now and then and do something extra. I think part of the problem is that he doesn't think that what I do is a job because I don't bring home a paycheck so his job is more important and he shouldn't have to do as much around the house. I say that both our jobs are equally as important. In one of our "talks" I actually had to show him how much child care cost and compare it to the average wage in this area less the gas it would take to go back and forth and what a general day for me would be like because I would be the one going back and forth, not him. It's not that I don't want to work, I'm literally saving us a lot of money, time, stress by staying home. He says he understands but everytime he hears about a job, he always tries to get me to apply.
