| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread That Catholic school for one LOL I always use that as an excuse as to what my problem is. Good defense! I bet they don't (use the potty by themselves at night). I'm certain they probably just pee off of the back deck like other normal men with perfectly functional toilets in the house! |

| Madame Klanganator | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Yeah, what's up with that peeing outside thing? John is always whipping it out outside in the yard. I notice he doesn't do it in the winter, though. Chicken.

| Angel Girl's Daddy ![]() | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread I have a 9 year old daughter, I think i'll hang over here for a bit. Shes having a sleep over tonight. great girl Merissa. Lee has been acting up latley so were trying something new and reading this book by Alan E. Kazdin, Ph.D. (big name!) There is this point system he has that seems to be making some head way with her. We actually have not had to ask her to brush her teeth or do her home work since we began. Check it out lady's. Maybe you will like it. It's called " The Kazdin Method for parenting the Defiant Child" This is the first time i am stepping out of Christian method books.

| Angel Girl's Daddy ![]() | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread Were pulling Lee from public next year and shelling out the bucks for a Christian academy down the road. 8 kids to a class! We went to the open house and Lee loved it. We'll see how it is. No Catholic school for her though! I hated it also.

| Manta Ray | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread I don't know about that whole Catholic school bit. I went, I was never much for it. Would I have been for public schools?...I guess it would depend. I went to public high school and I liked it. Catholic schools are expensive and do not offer much by way of education. I'll have to check out that book. I am always looking for something that is a bit outside of the usual textbook explanation of everything. Once everything in those books fail, it makes me wonder what in the heck I did wrong! Man boobs. Well, some guys are all about chests, some about legs, a few about butts. How many times have you heard a woman say "I am all about man boobs." It's a good reason for some insecurity. I wish I could help them through it, but it isn't as easy as saying: "Don't worry so much about them until you get to the point you can tuck them into your pants." |

| Madame Klanganator | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread You couldn't beat our Catholic elementary school for education. It was very progressive. It was way better than the public schools in our town. We had a science lab, computer class, taught foreign language, had a band beginning in fourth grade, and you couldn't beat the reading/literature program. The principal was pretty amazing. It was definitely all her doing. My sons went to public junior high and high school. Daughter went Catholic through 9th grade. She was a swimmer and wanted to swim high school, but just hated the Catholic high school so she started public in 10th grade and gave up her sport. That was a shame because she was state championship material as a freshman. It was her choice, though. I think education in the US sucks in general. Good thing my kids were smart and were able to muddle their way through in spite of it. The system here needs revamping big time.

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: OT: Women of RS Thread We're definitely going to get varying levels of education, I think. THe preschool here is good, but she is NOT going to the high school. I went to catholic school too, and while I have a giant chip on my shoulder in regards to school adn the church in general, I don't think I would have survived public school. By tht time my sister went, though, thigns didn't sound much different... they had integrated teh boys and girls schools by then though, they were separate when I went.
