A cool article about an unusual fish.

On caveat, this quote from the article:

This is totally innaccurate. There are several, if not dozens of vertebrates that can reproduce without mates. There are species of lizard which are entirely female. In addition, some sharks, snakes, lizards, and salamanders are known to reproduce through parthenogenesis as well as through sexual breeding.

There are actually alot of fish that leave the water for various reasons. Mudskipper spend more of their life on the land than in the water. A couple of species of catfish even hunt insects and other small game on land. Heck, I have even seen one of my bettas slither out of the water, up a leaf and grab a fly.

Interesting article! Parthenogenesis is different from self-fertilization. Parthenogenesis is the development of an embryo without fertilization.
