I can't believe it !
I think that since you've been taking things slow and have invested a good chunk of change in this project I would wait for another tank and insist on a discount for all our troubles.

Update: I got a call from the builder yesterday...aparently a brand new tank was expressly built for me and will be ariving in California monday and at my doorstep by the end of the week. The old tank will be picked up and swapped out for the brand new one and I will be given special consideration for my headaches (details of which I cannot go into

)
Needless to say, I am very happy with the outcome and IMHO the level of customer service provided by this company truly has no equal
