OT: Koi Pond

This is the koi pond at my mom's that we did the summer of 05 (when I was still living there). It's our pride and joy we put our blood sweat and tears in it. And it's so pretty thought I would share.

Thank you...It took us all summer to do that....you can't see but there's a whole deck around it with a hot tub too.....love it

I thought you couldn't have koi with water lilys?
My best friend has a small pond and always steers away from the koi because of her lillys. Have you had any problems with the combo?

No we've never had a problem with the two...You can't really tell in the picture but almost the whole pond is covered with lily pads.

A kindred spirit. Koi are an other of my life time loves. I have two ponds on the way. Must redo the one in the house and I have a hole next to the creek that just has to have the final shaping, the under liner is next to it and I have the place to buy the final liner. My problem is just too many things must be done at the same time. My oldest granddaughter has asked to be married in our garden and I do not think it will be any later that next spring. Since her mom and dad were married next to this hole (It was a smaller koi pond than.) I would really like to have it remade for her wedding. I am sitting down today and making true priorities and simplifying many more plans.

I just hope I can do as good a job as yours. You have pulled off a feat that not many of us can do; with the water lilies and koi together. Yours is great. Thanks for sharing.

Sure rub it in! I just wish I had a back yard. Renting sucks.

But that koi pond doesn't! Beautiful work! Best I've seen and I watch alot of those home improvement shows.
