I've posted this before, but this is an overhead shot a local pilot took near one of the places I surf a lot:


Luckily aggressive sharks don't occur often along the NC coast. Mostly sand tigers and black tips. I'm not sure how often Bull Sharks frequent our surfing spots but apparently they get spotted from time to time near the surf breaks.

Deeper waters in NJ will see Mako, Bull, and White sharks every once in a while from what I hear. You just never know when one will come in close to shore.

As you can see from the thread she bit me by techno-vicki all sharks bite. I know this for a fact having been bitten several times once by the a Lemon which was very unpleasant. Never in the wild though I dont think that would be a good thing

im a mountain child, the ocean freaks me out.

i went surfing in todos santos in baja w/ my uncle, and while i was like chilln past the breakers, i kicked somethin, and that just about ended my surfing career.

i totally caressed a nurse in hawaii when i was lil, that was really cool

if it was cold water where he was id say white, but warm water id say bull or tiger?

but again im a dirty mtn kid, i really have no idea

The funny thing is, if you ask most surfers that have been attacked by sharks if they still surf, they still do.
The little girl in Hawaii that had her arm bitten clean off by a shark is still surfing and placing in the top 5 in her division nationally every year.

But not much spooks me more than seeing a shark as big or bigger than my board in the water. We also get a lot of cobia here that look like sharks when they come near the surface in the surf.
I've also almost dropped my load on a few occasions when dolphins pop out of nowhere near my surfboard.

If you look @ the odds of being bitten the first time they are slim to none the second time would be next to non existant

I just saw pictures of this guy that were taken in the hospital he recieved 200 Staples & 500+ stitches the man is relly lucky to me alive. From someone that knows this individual they say is is recovering nicely & will be home in a few days
