OT: 1800flowers

justed wanted to share an experience of mine. Well tried to order my girlfriend roses which i might add i normally dont . i called they took my order said it would be delivered today. well they delivered flowers like they said except instead of the lennox vase they were suppose to have sent they sent it in this pink walmart style vase. They didnt even call me to say they had switched the vase i called. they said they would correct it the next day well then i recieve a call that that would not be able to ship till today needless to say they called and stated they would not be able to deliver now till friday. Of course at this i am furious do to there lack of service. What kills me the most is not one shop anywhere near king of prussia has this vase in stock and its still on there web as available same day. Well just wanted to inform other reefers in case you try to send that speacial someone flowers as i did

Re: 1800flowers

I had a similar experience with 1-800-Flowers as well. I ordered a bouquet of sunflowers with the stems wrapped in raffia in a vase. My wife, (girlfriend at the time) got red carnations wrapped in a red polyester ribbon. I would never recommend 1-800-Flowers.

Re: 1800flowers

Good to know. Thanks! I've used them before also to send roses to my mother in Florida but I have no idea of the quality. She said she loved them.

Re: 1800flowers

I've never had a problem with them. Wifey ofthen uses them to send flowers to her mom.
many times they use a local florist to make the arangement as per their recommendations, maybe that's were things went wrong

Re: 1800flowers

I've had pretty good luck with FTD.com. They always make mom happy on mothers day and her birthday.

Re: 1800flowers

Unless you are at the other end (the receiving end), you have no idea what the receipient is getting from 1-800-Flowers. For most, sending flowers via 1-800-Flowers means sending long distances. You have no control over what they send or who they subcontract to and you may never even see the arrangement. Sure, your loved one is going to say they love it, you just gave them a gift, but there's a good chance with 1-800-Flowers that what you ordered is not what the receipient received.

Re: 1800flowers

Iam sure but the local florist are subcontrators for them so if there is a problem the it is 1800flowers responsability to make it right. Also i feel that 1800 should make sure that there subs have the supplies to deliver what they sell

Re: 1800flowers

Acutally I have had several good experiences with them. Of course I never tested their customer service since things were fine to begin with.
The one I have had GREAT service from though is proflowers.com. I got one set of flowers that was less than awesome and when I mentioned it in the course of a call about something else they insisted on replacing the flowers I was less than happy with. It is a ship directly from the grower place so no same day delivery and you have to put the flowers in the vase yourself but I have gotten great flowers from them and great customer service.

Re: 1800flowers

i just cant see a company of there size not monitering the local florist inventory on a product they advertise and sell. Just sounds like bad buissness then to make 2 other attempts and fall through on them, and have the nerve to call and say well we cant deliver till fri. so same day to them means a week and a half later. HUH

Glad to hear your experience went better , but how manyhavent, and how many dont know

local florist make a profit and they cant even keep track of it

Re: OT: 1800flowers

I shy away from the flowers when it comes to Moms and other relatives...now of course you guys wouldn't want to send this to your girls, but maybe the next time you are ordering flowers for Mom or other relative, check out Got Fruit.com; Fruit Gift Baskets, Gourmet Gift Baskets, Fruit Gifts, Comice Pears, Wine Gifts and the Monthly Fruit Club featuring the Fruit of the Month

My mom loves their fruit and I found it when someone sent me fruit. It is great!
