OT: Happy Earth Day

Hey all, just wanted to say happy earth day. Enjoy the beauty of the planet (especially those slices of ocean we have) and lets all be aware of the impact our actions have on the planet, especially with concern to global warming.

Happy earth day to every.
Take this day as a reminder that being environmentally aware is not a political issue.
Consider what you can do with your reef tank to make it a little more environmentally friendly:
Purchase captive grown or aqauacultured frags
Look into purchasing more efficient pumps and powerheads. For example a Mag 12 uses 110 watts, Switching to a Mak4 pump that uses 55 watts. Here in NC it would cost seven dollars and change to run the mag12 24/7, while the Mak4 would only cost $3.61. Look into the wattage your tank uses.
Support stores that sell healthy livestock, even if it costs more. The reason the livestock might cost more is because they spend the money to keep livestock healthy. In the long run stores like this have less impact on the collection of reef fish and corals.

Its beautiful here in Florida today, time to enjoy it before the summer rains come (Ugh). Off to the pool in a bit
