Well, Cartmen was right.
The nintendo Wii is a *expletive* fun device. I went up to visit some friends yesterday that I went to college with. We made quesadillas, drank cheap beer played some Wii. Actually we played poker first, but I was first out

It's really fun when you've been drinking and people have cameras and are taking pictures of you playing Wii party games making a fool of yourself. I might actually consider getting one just as some party entertainment, they seem pretty inexpensive if you can find one.

the wii is indeed one of the coolest "party" systems out there. there are more excellent games on the horizon too. i just wonder how long it will take for the game developers to make games taht satisfy the "hardcore" gamers. up until now most hardcore gamers are very unimpressed with the wii.

nintendo meant the system to be sold to non gamers, but betraying teh hardcore, the people who put nintendo on their throne in the first place, is a bad idea.

IMO "hardcore" gamers will continue to use PC's and Xbox360. AFA as Wii it's just plain fun to watch your friends using it, especially after splitting a few cases of beer. It is pretty cool to have a game that both guys and girls can enjoy playing together. Plus being able to download super mario brothers and other games from when I was a kid is great. Last night we spent a few hours playing a game that came out almost 20 years ago.

Yeah I have a wii, and spend more time playing all the old virtual console games than I do the new ones (except zelda of course

) . Its definitely a riot multiplayer also...

I was soo excited when they came out with Super Mario World & Link to the Past for wii, a couple of my favorite games of all time...

ya know, ive always hated sports games. i got excited about wii sports, then i played it. i hated it too.

i cant wait for a wii game that is just awesome. i mean like, flawless usage of the motion controls, pretty graphics, good music, good story, good gameplay, some killer app. i wonder how long till it comes out?

But you don't like the bowling?? I love the bowling, like the tennis, and can tolerate the boxing from time to time. The golf and baseball is pretty bad though IMO...

I loved the sports games, except the boxing. But what made it really enjoyable is just playing silly games with friends. I think the sports games were designed purely on the fun side, not aimed at the gamers or people that are super competitive. We had a blast drinking and playing, the girls enjoyed as much as we did. Unlike when we get together and play poker were the girls get bored of our antics pretty quick, there was a lot of fun with the Wii, which was what surprised me most.

I don't think they will come out with a "killer" app for the wii. I really don't think that is what Nintendo is aiming for with this system. When you consider the pricepoint and hardware that goes into a Wii, I think they are really just building a fun system for the masses (which is what the original Famicom or NES systems did) and will let Microsoft, Playstation and PC continue to support the more hardcore gamer market.
