| Sea Pen | Re: Its not salt, but has water Sorry KodiakBear, I have not been to my post for awhile thus did not see your post. No new stuff happening to my tank but in actual fact I have removed the driftwood. It is causing alot of problems to my tank, producing lots of dirt and algae.Right now it is soaking in a pail of water.Thinking of setting up another fresh water planted tank, a slightly bigger one. Will keep up updated soon. Thanks for asking. |

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: OT: Its not salt, but has water Calm down Boozeman. 1 question per customer. I'm having a Scotch to help calm you down. Beautiful tank by the way Teresa (and Steve). Have you guys had Discus before? I had some that did great until I cleaned the tank. I'm doing more research on that front as well before I try again. Lovely tank.

Thank you for your compliment. No I have not had Discus before. Are they easy to keep? Anyway they are too big for the 20 gallon tank. Have to wait till Sasquatch build me another bigger tank.

As for the "algae" was it white stuff coming off the wood or actual algae? I believe driftwood can also lower the PH of your water a touch. You just have to be patient with the driftwood, just like in the salt hobby. Seems as if it will never be right and then one day you look in the tank and it's absolutely stunning. Maybe I've overstepped my boundaries, and you already know all of this, just thought I'd give a little input because there's finally something I can really answer to out here as freshwater is what I got my "feet wet" in. ![]() Keep us posted on the tank Lynnette
