Wow! $4/episode! It's over $7/episode to buy the whole series!
But it doesn't say anything about having the bonus features that the complete set has. Maybe that's the reason for the price difference.

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

The one's you guys have been watching is narrated by whom ? The one's I ordered is narrated by Sir David Attenborough not Sigorney Weaver as some of the reviewers were not happy with that change. He's great on the Blue Planet series.

From the link I posted:
"Award-winning actress and conservationist Sigourney Weaver narrates this 11-part series. You'll be amazed by never-before-seen animal behaviors, startling views of locations captured by cameras for the first time and unprecedented high-definition production techniques."
Where did you get yours, Cheeks?

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

oh, you must have gotten the BBC version. That's why it has the different narrator.
Is this what you ordered? BBC version $24 cheaper to listen to a british accent. I never liked Ms. Weaver much anyway.

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

From one of the customer reviews on the BBC version:
"So, guess what, I'm buying this version for a permanent keepsake & to enjoy D. Attenborough's mellifluous voice over and over. Love ya Sigourney, but come on, who wrote your dialogue??? " ~ E. Payton
LoL... I guess he/she isn't a fan of Ms. Weaver either.

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

I've always heard about that scene. Never seen Alien though. Only one of that whole series I've seen is A vs P.

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

I enjoyed the first and second movies. After that it just got 'old'

Re: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

Good "classic" movie to watch (can't believe it is that old of a movie now). FWIW all the Planet Earth shows I have on DVR have Ms. Weaver. Guess I have to buy the DVD's to get the full effect

LoL... Wouldn't you know it?! The local Blockbuster didn't have ANY of the Alien series! Oh well, added it to my Blockbuster online queue

Re: OT: Planet Earth - Discovery Channel

Received mine a few days ago and all I can say is WOW !!!
The filming and angles you see is incredible and unmatched in any nature film I've ever seen. I can only imagine what it would look like at an IMAX theatre. Unfortunately the BBC version wouldn't play on my computer but worked fine on my regular DVD player, don't really know why
