OT: Things that make you go Hmmm...

OK... Have you ever had a thought that left you feeling... well... kind of perplexed?

Here is a thread to share those thoughts with the rest of us.

For instance... I've lived in Florida for a few years now. This is the orange juice capital of the world right?

So why is it I'm paying the same amount for OJ that everyone else pays in the US?

Shouldn't we get some kind of discount for being a FL resident?

I have often wondered why people buy the HUGE gas hogs like hummers that are supposed to be super tough and then go over railroad tracks like they are gonna break something. It always cracks me up cause commercials have them climbing mountains and crossing rivers and city drivers have them creeping over RR tracks.

Good way to spend $50,000 and SUPER for the environment!

I dunno, but last time I went to Florida I had some type of tangerine grapefruit cross, I can't remember what it was called but it was delicious. Is the OJ not cheaper at the farmers market? Or at least better?

This is just another example of States being stripped of their resources by big business! And everybody has to pay! Also overall orange production is down this year and Florida's crop is expected to be down. That means you will pay more in the future.

Hey, can't you grow your own oranges? Maybe you should grow tangelos and ship em to NC

It's funny you mention railroad tracks... You can always tell who leases their auto by how aggressively they cross the tracks!

If I was going to use my metal halides for growing something... it sure wouldn't be tangelos!!
