Re: Steve Erwin Death

Does anyone know what stingray it was? Seems like a nightmare but it's reality.

He was doing a story called "The Ocean's Deadliest" and got to close to a stingray.

Ironic.

Re: Steve Erwin Death

That just tells you that some of the worlds deadliest creatures are not found on land but in the oceans. We know more about space, land animals, war, ect. then we do the ocean. The stingray gets the award for the deadliest animal for now. The croc king has fell but he'll still be around protecting animals.

Re: Steve Erwin Death

ive thought about this all day. sad,,very sad. but, for a man like steve, it is a proper way to go, while doing what you love. granted he was taken from us way to soon, but think of the countless times he should have been taken. he lived his life to the fullest, doing what he loved. a full life is better than one filled with regrets.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

The rays barb. The stinger. I wonder what he did that made the stingray ticked off? I've swam with rays before and I can't see how that could happen. Must of been a big unhappy fish. The ray probably woke up on the worng side of the bed today, maybe someone was picking at his eyes or fins? lol

Re: Steve Erwin Death

I sure wasn't suprised this happend. Watching him over the years I couldn't beleive some of the animals he dealt with. Especially the time when we jumped on a sewer croc, with some help of course. He definately won't be forgotten. I feel bad for his kids.

Re: Steve Erwin Death

It was a bullnose ray...They can get up to 7 feet in diameter.. There has only been 3 report incidents ever... Very rare and tragic... anywhere else on the body and he wouldnt have been killed just very sore or ill... Tragic
