My already low opinion of the media will drop even lowever if they EVER show that footage. Totally insensitive and unnecessary.
He was actually quoted in an interview stating that if he died like this he wanted it taped and he wanted it shown to help others.

I don't see how it'll help others but if it was his wish then so be it.

I personally think that the video should be destroyed only to prevent his children from viewing it.
Although I agree that the children are too young and should be protected from viewing but when they're older they may want to know/see exactly how their father died so I don't think it should be destroyed.

IMO, Terri and his family should make the decision, not the fans, not Discovery Channel. Personally, I'd like to see the footage taken BEFORE he was impaled, but not the actual incident. Not sure I could watch someone I have invited into my home for over 10 yrs die like that...

Cheeks, there are lots of tribute bits like the one I posted earlier. Some in horrible taste, some just not as well done. I'm sure there will be more quality ones surface over the next few days.

Re: Steve Erwin Death

Hollywood and make-believe dying is one thing,,,,we all watch it. but to actually see someone die, even if that is what they said they would like. im sorry, but death is death. yes it can be shared,,or shared with others,,,but only those close to you,,,whether by family ties or proximity. but to have it aired for all to see,,,,i cannot agree. its not a social event. celebrating his life, New Orleans funeral,,,yeah,,,go for it, but showing the tragedy, totally wrong.

l loved watching Steve and will continue to champion his cause, to promote conservevation, but to have a tape of his death his final tribute is wrong and a applaud his wife for preserving his legacy and forbiding its airing. lets just hope it doesnt leak to the National Inquirerer.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: Steve Erwin Death

I’m in dismay. There are so many posts and threads for steve on so many forums It's awsome. But I can’t sit here and think for a second steve would want us to morn him. I never met him or anything like that but his personality on the shows his passion for animals reptils and the rest. From what I gathered. He would have wanted us to celabrate a good life. With a good job mate nicely done!!! I have never in my life felt sadness for a persons death that I didn’t know but this loss hits me deeply.

Like I said good job mate nicely done!! RIP You will be missed.

Everything else is whatever.

As for his family my deepiest condolences. He meant alot to alot of people. It will effect nobody else like the ones that stood beside him. Kids, wife,ECT. I can't say a loss like that will ever get better or heal in time. You just learn to deal with it.
