| Dragon Moderator ![]() | OT: New Monitor! Well everyone, I've been in the dinosaur ages when it came to monitor technology. For the past 8 years I've been using the monitor I got with my very first computer. It was a nice state of the art 15" CRT monitor when the "flat screens" first started coming out. It still works really well and the picture is really clear on it. I haven't had any actual problems with the monitor itself, however it was obvious that EVERYTHING demands a bigger viewing screen now. So, as of today, I've joined the rest of the population and purchased a 19" LCD monitor. It's an LG Flatron L1919S monitor with 1400:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness and 8ms responce time. I must say the sheer size of the screen is absolutely HUGE compared to what I'm used to! Gone are the days of 800x600 resolution to be replaced with 1280x1024! This is the way that my digital pictures are suppose to be viewed! It's given a whole new dimension to the photos that I took during my vacation in Scotland! I'm extremely impressed with it so far!

| Moderator ![]() | Re: OT: New Monitor! I know the feeling of upgrading from a 15"! A couple of years ago Mark purchased a Flat Screen LCD 17" Monitor for my BD. He hooked it up when I went to bed so that I would be surprised when I woke up. Nice surprise! It took me awhile to get used to the larger viewing area but, now....I want an even bigger one! LOL |

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | Re: OT: New Monitor! Lynn, here is a link to my Scotland photos, however their sizes were reduced to fit my old monitor. I still have the original unedited files on my comp that I've recently gone through and I absolutely love them! http://www.fishtanksandponds.info/ex...tion/index.htm Gina, I must admit I'm a little intimidated by the size of the monitor! It's a BIG change, but I love it. I did have to change my mouse settings so I didn't need to move my hand across the entire desk in order to get to the other side of the screen! I've also noticed that all the menu options on this forum are spaced a LOT further apart then I'm used to!
