| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... I'm still haven't purchased a case to or power supply to feed juice to this stuff. Not sure if I'm gonna pull apart my current rig or just build a whole new one. Would save lots of money to just use my current case, video card and power supply.

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... No neon, but some led fans and blue leds in the front of the case. It's a pretty cheap case, but does the job. Kinda want to buy a nice case like a Lian Li or something. Find out why a $150-$200 case actually sells for that much... I figure as many cases as they do sell, they must be worth it, or else people would keep buying the $50 cases like I have. The power supply I have is only a 430 watt antec unit, but with dual 12v rails so it is very stable. I'm not running SLI or crossfire cards and only a single hard drive, so not to much strain on the PSU, it is a solid unit, just doesn't have lots of power under it's hood ![]() I also saw that Nvidia is might be coming out with 7950GT dual video card for under $300... I might buy that when it comes out, sounds like a sweet deal if it is compatible with my mobo...

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... Ah yes...the Conroe...bout time they got that out for retail...I might actually consider upgrading my PC again next year since that's out. Dunno, like Mike said, by the time you're done, you're looking at at least a $$ Grand $$... AND, I'll need to finally make the jump to a PCI-e video card. When I do, I'll also bite the bullet and upgrade to a PC Power &Cooling power supply. http://www.pcpowercooling.com/home/

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... I already have an intel board with PCI-E and 945 chipset (unfortuntely no support for the new conroe though). I already have 3 extra heatsink and fans sitting around. They were all more than sufficent to cool my 90nm prescott proc, so I know they will cool the conroe down easily.

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... No, we had a hard drive on the Eagle PC. The commodore 64 had a tape drive though. The stuff you learned from programmin on a C64 can still be seen in HTML today.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: OT: new toys for the geek... I sitll have one program at work that I have to use DOS for. LOL When I got this joby it was the first way I impressed management. They started giving me step by step instructions and I said "Oh you want me to go do DOS." They were shocked I even knew what it was not yet how to use it. Sorry, just a trip in the wayback machine for me. Personally missed the Commodore 64 but did have one of the orriginal Apples. How far we have come in a short time.
